- The name Karin means "good, beautiful" (佳) (ka) and "dignified, severe, cold" (凛) (rin).
- Karin's surname Kanzaki means "look/outlook, appearance, condition, view, spectacle, mien, countenance, expression" (観) (kan) and "cape, peninsula" (崎) (saki/zaki).

- Japanese players call her by the nickname "The Green Devil" as the in-game shop owner.
